Tiger Shroff, born as Jai Hemant Shroff, is an Indian actor working in Hindi films. He is also a trained martial artist and a stunt performer. He shot into limelight with his debut movie in a Sajid Nadiadwala romantic action flick called "Heropanti", alongside debutante Kriti Sanon and actor Prakash Raj.
Early Life of Tiger Shroff
Jai Hemant Shroff was born on 2nd March, 1990 to Jackie Shroff, a veteran actor who has worked in over 200 films throughout his illustrious career and his mother, Ayesha Shroff, a former model and actress as well. He has a sister named Krishna, three years younger. His paternal grandfather, Kakubhai Shroff, was a Gujarati astrologer and grandmother, Rita Shroff, was a Turk from Kazakhstan. His maternal grandfather was Air Vice-Marshal Ranjan Dutt, married to Claude-Marie de Cavey, a Belgian countess. He changed his name to Tiger before debuting in movies.
Tiger Shroff completed his schooling at the American School of Bombay and later attended Amity University. He had helped actor Aamir Khan in developing his physique for his role in the film "Dhoom 3". He is a trained martial artist, holding a fifth degree black belt in the Korean martial art form Taekwondo.
Career of Tiger Shroff
Tiger Shroff made his acting debut in the 2014 romantic action movie called Heropanti along with Kriti Sanon. The movie was directed by Sabbir Khan and Tiger was signed for the film 2 years prior to the release date of the movie on 2nd June, 2012 by Sajid Nadiadwala. It opened to mixed reviews from critics, who praised Tiger Shroff for his strong screen presence with elegance and finesse in dance and action sequences but assessed his dialogue delivery and expressions as not noteworthy and failing to make an impression.
His second film was the 2016 action drama, Baaghi under the same production house of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment with the same director as his previous film. The leading lady of the movie was Shraddha Kapoor. This movie was a commercial success and a sequel to it was made in 2018, Baaghi 2 with Disha Patani as the female lead. This was the 6th highest grossing Bollywood film of 2018. In 2016, Tiger Shroff"s next venture was the superhero movie called A Flying Jatt alongside Jacqueline Fernandez. Directed by Remo D"Souza and produced under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures, this movie was also a hit in the Box Office.
In 2017, Tiger Shroff and Sabbir Khan collaborated again on their third project Munna Michael, along with Niddhi Agarwal. The movie did not do well in the Box Office and received tons of negative reviews and emerged as a commercial failure. In 2019, he starred opposite newcomers Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria in Karan Johar"s teenage romantic comedy Student of the Year 2, which is a sequel to the 2012 Alia Bhatt, Siddharath Malhotra and Varun Dhawan starrer movie of the same name.
Currently, he is working on an untitled project alongside Hrithik Roshan and Vaani Kapoor under the Yash Raj Films banner. This movie will be directed by Siddharth Anand and is slated for release in October 2019. In March 2020, Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor will reunite in the action sequel Baaghi 3.
Tiger Shroff has also starred in few music videos. He was featured in few of Amaal Malik composed songs of 2015, "Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main", sung by Atif Aslam, and "Chal Wahan Jaate Hain", sung by Arijit Singh. His few other music videos include "Befikra", "The Prowl Anthem- Ready to Move", "Are you Coming?" both sung by Benny Dayal and "Har Ghoont Mein Swag" sung by Badshah.

He had earned a nomination in the Best Male Debut category at the Filmfare Awards.
