Hrithik RoshanHrithik Roshan, the renowned Bollywood actor, is known for his commendable acting skills and dramatic versatility. His acquaintance with the silver screen occurred in 1980s when he appeared in several movies as a child artist. As an adult he made his cinematic debut through the movie Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, in 2000, which earned him overnight success and set his career rolling. Subsequently he starred in a number of commercially successful movies and portrayed lead roles with significant appeal. His remarkable screen presence fetched him a number of awards in the film world.

Early Life of Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan was born in the year 1974, 10th January. He is the son of actor-director Rakesh Roshan. His maternal grandfather was the well known director-producer J. Om Prakash who introduced Hrithik to the acting world at the age of 6. Rajesh Roshan is his uncle, who is a prominent music director. He did his schooling from Bombay Scottish School and graduated from Sydenham College in Commerce. After completing his school and college, he received a scholarship for Masters Degree in the United States which he refused for pursuing a career in Bollywood. Career of Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan`s tryst with acting began at an early age. He was seen in Bhagwan Dada starring Rajnikanth and Sridevi in 1980. However his major breakthrough was the film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai that swept the entire nation off its feet. He was instantly declared the star of the millennium. He had worked very hard on his dance, voice modulation, dialogue delivery and fitness before he joined films. His dedication to acting is still illustrious as even after being one of the biggest stars he firstly prepares himself completely for the role he is about to play. As far as his debut film is concerned it was the top grosser of 2000 and it won him two awards viz. Best Actor and Best Male Debut at the Filmfare Awards.

His next film was Fiza which was directed by Khalid Mohammed. In the movie he appeared opposite seasoned actors such as, Jaya Bachchan, Karishma Kapoor and Manoj Bajpai. Although the film did not fair well at the box office but Hrithik was praised for his impressive performance. Fiza brought to him critical applause and with his second film Hrithik Roshan established himself as one of the versatile actors in the film industry. After this, a string of films were released such as Vidhu Vinod Chopra`s Mission Kashmir (2000) with Preity Zinta, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff; Subhash Ghai`s Yaadein (2001) with Kareena Kapoor and others. However neither of these films could repeat his initial success. In 2001 he was seen in Karan Johar`s multi starrer Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. His films in 2002, such as, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum, Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage and Main Prem ki Diwani Hoon (2003) did not meet the expectations of the audience. He came back with a bang with his next release, Koi Mil Gaya, in the year 2003. Hrithik portrayed the role of a mentally challenged person and won the heart of millions. The film, starring Preity Zinta as his leading lady, was a runaway hit. It bagged him his second Filmfare Award in the Best Actor category. Farhan Akhtar`s Lakshya (2004) added another feather in Hrithik Roshan`s career. The film dealt with the transition of a happy-go-lucky young boy to a responsible individual.

Hrithik Roshan`s next film came after a two year break. This time he again teamed up with his father, Rakesh Roshan to appear as a superhero in Krrish. It was a sequel to the movie Koi Mil Gaya. The film was one of the highest grosser of 2006. The film also starred Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah and Priyanka Chopra. Once again Hrithik walked away with the Best Actor award at Filmfare Awards. He was perfect in the role of Akbar in the film Jodhaa Akbar. Thereafter he did a cameo role in Krazzy 4 and Luck By Chance. In 2010 he did two films viz. Kites and Guzaarish with Barbara Mori and Aishwarya Rai respectively. In Guzaarish he played the role of one of the most accomplished magicians who was paralyzed from neck down. Though Hrithik`s performance was applauded the film was unable to do well at the box office. Afterwards he appeared in Zoya Akhtar`s multi starrer movie Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The movie opened up to overwhelming positive reviews and Hrithik gained critical appreciation for the eminent portrayal of compulsive workaholic. His 2012 release was Agneepath. In 2013 he appeared in his home production Krrish 3 which proved to be a blockbuster at box office.

Other Ventures of Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan had done playback singing in movies Kites, Guzaarish and Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. He also judged a dance show on television, Just Dance. In November 2013, he launched his casual wear brand HRx. On 20th January 2011, London`s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum installed his life size wax statue which was followed by the installation of another wax statue in 2012 at Washington DC.

Hrithik Roshan has received a number of awards for his notable performances in various movies. He had won 6 Filmfare Awards and 9 IIFA Awards including the Best Actor Award for Jodhaa Akbar in 2009 in both the categories. He has been the recipient of 6 Star Screen Awards which includes the award for Jodi No. 1 along with Aishwarya Rai in 2010. His Zee Cine Awards number 6 counting the Critics` Choice Best Actor for Guzaarish. Apart form this he had also won 6 Bollywood Movie Awards, 5 Stardust Awards, 2 Bengal Film Journalists` Association Awards, 4 Apsara Film and Television Producers Guild Awards, 2 The Global Indian Film and TV Honours and 1 Golden Minbar International Film Festival Award along with several other honours and recognitions.

Personal Life of Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan had married Suzanne Khan, the daughter of famed actor Sanjay Khan, on 20th December 2000 and the couple is blessed with two sons namely Hrehaan and Hridhaan. Their marriage however dissolved and they announced separation on 13th December 2013.
