In the Shahrukh Khan played the role of a young college boy in love with a girl and trying to win her heart. After a while Khan starred opposite Kajol in the all time blockbuster movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in 1995. The movie remains one of the signature films of Shah Rukh Khan.

The movie is credited with creating records in the industry. In 1997 Khan starred in a series of romantic chartbusters. In "Yes Boss" he played the role of an office guy trying to woo the heart of a beautiful girl played by Juhi Chawla. In "Pardes" he enacted the role of caring and compassionate friend of Mahima Chaudhary while in Dil To Pagal Hai his character depicted the love life of a dancer in a musical dance troupe. This was the first Bollywood movie to be shot in Baden-Baden, Germany in the Europa Park. The film, directed by Yash Chopra included some unique dance performers like Madhuri Dixit and Karishma Kapoor. The film was awarded in many heads in the film fare awards and got two national awards in the year 1998. Soon came along another hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998 which created much hype among the college students. Mohabbatein in 2000, showed Shahrukh as Raj Aryan Malhotra sharing the screen with stalwart Amitabh Bachchan as the principal of a `gurukul`, where he was the music teacher. In this film he was the lover of Amitabh Bachchan`s daughter Megha (Aishwarya Rai). He happened to be a solicitor of love theories and encouraged his students to approach their love without any fear, since the principal was too strict to allow any love affair. This was the first time Shahrukh was featured along with his idol, and again in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...of 2001, where he played the role of Amitabh Bachchan`s son Rahul Raichand. In this film he is seen once again as a super hit duo of Shahrukh - Kajol.

In Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna Khan portrayed an unusual role of a man involved in an extra marital affair. The movie was a hit in the overseas market. In Farah Khan"s Om Shanti Om, Khan is depicted in the role of a junior artiste in love with an actress played by Deepika Padukone. He seeks to take revenge from the killer of the actress in his next birth. The movie was a huge hit. Khan even set records with his movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Anushka Sharma. He enacts the role of a shy, loving husband who transforms himself to a fun loving and amusing person to earn the love of his wife. His character was well appreciated and the movie was a huge hit.

Shah Rukh has turned into a legend with the passage of time. His films always have a fresh feeling and his acting whenever seen looks like as if made for the moment. He has excelled as a romantic hero, villain and comedian as well. His antiques in Yess Boss and Duplicate could make any youngster fall in love. Shahrukh has become a global name and has given a new dimension to acting and have outwitted any trends of the industry. This man - larger than life has seen the hooks and nooks of the journey and reached to the smooth summit.
