Gird region
Gird is a region in Madhya Pradesh covering the districts of Bhind, Gwalior, Morena, Shivpuri and Sheopur.

Grid region of Madhya Pradesh means that the entire region covers the districts of Bhind, Gwalior, Morena District, Sheopur District and Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh. This is called Gird. The largest city in this region is Gwalior. Hadoti region of Rajasthan in the southwest, Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh in the south and the Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh and the state of Uttar Pradesh in the east surround it. The Chambal River and the Yamuna Rivers drain the northern boundaries of the region.

The region is very fertile and is characterized by alluvial, loamy soils. It receives an annual rainfall of 800 to 1000 mm. It is a major fruit-bearing region and the chief crops grown in the region are mandarin, sweet oranges, limes, guava, ber, amla and custard apple. Seasonal vegetables are also cultivated here.
