Jabalpur Division is an administrative unit of the central Indian state Madhya Pradesh. The city of Jabalpur district is the administrative headquarters of the division. The division consists of the districts of Balaghat, Chhindwara district, Dindori district,, Jabalpur, Katni district,, Mandla district,, Narsinghpur district, and Seoni district,.
During the time of British government in India, Jabalpur Division was a division of the Central Provinces. At that time, it included the districts of Jabalpur, Sagar, Damoh, Seoni and Mandla. After India`s independence in 1947 the Central Province became the new state of Madhya Pradesh. The Balaghat district was earlier part of the Central Province`s Nagpur Division. In 1956, it became a part of Jabalpur Division when the Nagpur Division became a part of the Mumbai.
