Shweta has also appeared in a few Bollywood films, in minor supporting roles.

Shweta Kawatra was born on February 10, 1976 and brought up in Delhi, India. She practices Buddhism and is a member of the Soka Gakkai, a Japanese Buddhist religious movement.

Television Career of Shweta Kawatra
Shweta Kawatra made her debut on television in Ekta Kapoor"s long running and popular Hindi daily soap "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii", which aired on STAR Plus. Shweta essayed the pivotal supporting role Pallavi Kamal Agarwal, initially the antagonist character in the series. She was recognised for her role with Indian television awards.

She was seen in Sony TV"s detective anthology series "CID" and "CID: Special Bureau". There she portrayed the erstwhile character Dr. Niyati Pradhan. The actress was later seen donning the role of Nivedita Mittal in another popular TV soap produced by Ekta Kapoor- "Kumkum - Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan", which aired on STAR Plus. It remains one of the longest running serials on Indian television, with a total of 1449 episodes that aired over 7 years till March 2009.

Shweta was next seen in 2012 in SAB TV"s children`s daily television series "Baal Veer", which began airing in October 2012. She played Bhayankar Pari in the soap opera. In 2015, she appeared on "Sawaal-e-Ishq", where she discussed and answered questions on love, marriage and relationships. It aired on channel Fame Bollywood. She has also appeared on TV shows "Adaalat", "Phulwa", "Saat Phere" and "Sonu Sweety".

Shweta Kawatra participated in Season 2 of popular Indian dance reality show "Nach Baliye 2", along with her husband television actor Manav Gohi, who was awarded the Best Dancer by Saroj Khan, in one of the episodes.

She has also appeared in Bollywood films like psychological thriller "Murder 2" in 2011, where she was seen as psychiatrist Dr. Sania and in the 2016 sports drama biopic "Azhar", as the magazine writer. After these, she was again seen in the movie "My Brother…Nikhil".

Personal Life of Shweta Kawatra
Shweta Kawatra got married to co-actor from "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii", Manav Gohil, on December 26, 2004. They had met on the sets of the show and become good friends. They tied the knot after three-and-a-half years of dating. After eight years of marriage, the couple had their first child on May 11, 2012, a daughter named Zahra Tabeetha.
