Uttara Mhatre Kher is a former Indian model and beauty pageant contestant and winner. She won the Navy Queen Ball in the year 1981. In 1982, she was crowned Femina Miss India World and she went on to represented India at the Miss World 1982 pageant.
Career of Uttara Mhatre Kher
Born on December 29, 1963, Uttara Mhatre Kher started her career as a model. She has been a part of over a hundred commercials and print campaigns, also featured as cover girl in many leading fashion magazines. After her marriage, she and her husband quit the glamour world and moved to Nashik. In Nashik, they owned three restaurants named "Tandoor", "Aangan" and "The Bombay Talkies". They also ventured into furniture business and conduct regular exhibitions in Mumbai. In the year 2006, she joined "Maharashtra Navnirman Sena", as a head of the women"s wing and also the environmental wing. Disillusioned with party politics, she quit the party in 2009. Since then, she has been involved with many environmental issues independently and is also a trustee of charitable organisation "Nashik Run".
Personal Life of Uttara Mhatre Kher
Uttara Mhatre Kher is married to Adwait Kher, also a former model and son of renowned actress Usha Kiran. Actress Tanvi Azmi is her sister-in-law. The couple have two daughters, Saiyami Kher and Saunskruti Kher. Saunskruti Kher made her debut in the Marathi Film industry with the 2014 film "Swami Public Ltd" and Saiyami Kher made her Hindi film debut in Rakesh Omprakash Mehra"s film "Mirzya" opposite Harshvaardhan Kapoor.
