During the 1980s and early 1990s, she was featured in various Bollywood films, mostly in supporting roles but she also played lead characters in some Hindi films as well. Some of the recent films of Shoma Anand, where she played supporting roles, include Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and Hungama. She was also seen in the Hindi soap Bhabhi and the widely successful serial Hum Paanch. Shoma Anand played a role in Shararat. The actress has also acted in a number of Punjabi films. She has been a part of the film and television industry since the year 1976 and still continues to reign the hearts of her huge fan following.

Career of Shoma Anand
Shoma Anand made her debut in film industry by acting in the Bollywood movie Barood which featured actor Rishi Kapoor. She has enacted in supporting roles quite frequently in the following years. Throughout the whole 1980s and 1990s she had had done cameos in many movies. She also has played the role of the lead heroine in some movies like Jagir and Coolie through out 1980s. From the late 1990s to the present times Shoma Anand has mostly appeared in minor roles in popular films like Hungama, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum and Kal ho Na Ho. After her marriage in the year 1987, Shoma Anand took a break from the industry as her husband was not supportive of her career. However when her husband the producer-director Tariq Shah was making a film with Jeetendra and Vinod Khanna, it was then she accepted the offer of Jeetendra to act in the blockbuster show Hum Paanch.

Shoma Anand has also carved out a niche for herself in the hearts of the audiences of the small screen. She has played the mother`s role of the male protagonist of the Star Plus afternoon daily Bhabhi. She has proved excellence not in serious soaps but also in out and out comedies. In Shanno Ki Shaadi her comic performance was widely appreciated by the audience. She holds a very high regard for the film industry and has been very satisfied working here.

Shoma Anand got married to actor Tariq Shah and the couple has a daughter named Sarah.
