Seema Antil is an Indian Discus Thrower who was conferred with the Bhim Award. She won gold in 2014 Incheon Asian Games and won silver at 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Seema Antil, Indian Discus ThrowerSeema Antil is a renowned discus thrower from India who won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and gold at the Asian Games in 2014. She achieved her personal best throw of 64.84 metre in Kiev, Ukraine in August 2004.

Early Life of Seema Antil
Seema Antil was born on 27th July in the year 1983, in Sonipat, Haryana. She completed her education from Government College, in Sonipat.

Career of Seema Antil
Seema Antil started her sport career at the age of 11 years as a hurdler and a long-jumper, but later took to discus throw. In World Junior Championships in 2000 at Santiago, she won gold. Due to a positive drugs test for pseudoephedrine, she lost her gold medal at the 2000 World Junior Championships. She then won a bronze medal at the next World Junior Championships in 2002. In 2006 Commonwealth Games, she won the silver medal and was honoured with Bhim Award by the Haryana state government on 26th June 2006.

Seema won the bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games and finished 13th at the 2012 London Olympics. In 2014, she won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games and gold at the Asian Games. She won gold in 2014 Incheon Asian Games and won silver at 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Personal Life of Seema Antil
Seema Antil is married to Ankush Punia, her coach, and a former discus thrower who represented India at 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
