This is the fiftieth yogic sutra that is contained in the third phase of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras.

Sattva purusa any aid khyatimdtrasya sarvabhava adhisthatrtvam sarvajnatrtvam caThe fiftieth yoga sutra explains about the yogi, who has accomplished the status of omnipresence, omnipotence and omniscience. However, this can only be attained, only when a yogi understands the difference between illuminative intelligence and the seer. He alone realises all that exists and perceives directly, free from any bodily assistance.

Only one who knows the difference between the illuminative intelligence and the seer, attains supreme knowledge of all that exists and all that manifests.

The yogi distinguishes between intelligence, consciousness, ego and the soul. Through knowledge of the soul, he earns mastery over every state of manifestation and becomes master of all knowledge. He is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient.

He alone is the observer, perceiving everything directly, and he alone is the actor, independent of mind, senses of perception and organs of action. (1.36, 47; 11.18, 20; iii.36 and iv.25.)
