R.D. Singh or Ripudaman Singh Aulakh was born on 7th June 1954. He is an Indian athlete coach from Hanumangarh district of Rajasthan.
R.D. Singh or Ripudaman Singh Aulakh is a recipient of Dronacharya Awards, by the Government of India. He is India`s only Dronacharya awardee coach for para-sports.
Ripudaman Singh Aulakh was the third son out of a family of 8 children born to Jarnail Singh Aulakh and Balwant Kaur in a small village Karadwala in Sriganganagar of Rajasthan.
Early Life of R.D. Singh
Ripudaman Singh Aulakh after attaining his primary education in the Karadwala village he preceded on to high school in Sadulshahar Tehsil. After that, he completed his BA from Government College of Ajmer. After graduation, he completed his M.A. in History, Political Science and sociology from University of Rajasthan.
In Professional Education, Ripudaman Singh Aulakh studied L.L.B. from University of Ajmer and completed D.P.Ed. and M.P.Ed. from Government College of Physical Education, Patiala. Ripudaman Singh Aulakh also earned a Diploma in Coaching from National Institute of Sports at Patiala, Punjab.
In early days, Ripudaman Singh Aulakh won school national gold in Shot put, Discus throw and Basketball. In college days, Ripudaman Singh Aulakh became an Outstanding National Athlete because of his great achievements in sports like athletics, handball, volleyball, weightlifting, basketball at University level and National level.

Ripudaman Singh Aulakh won gold medals in athletics events like Shot put, Discus throw, Javelin Throw in Punjabi University, Patiala and University of Rajasthan. In weightlifting, Ripudaman Singh Aulakh won silver medal in All India Inter Uni. Weightlifting Championship. In Handball, Ripudaman Singh Aulakh won gold medal for Punjabi University with best player of tournament. In Volleyball, Ripudaman Singh Aulakh won gold medal for Punjabi University and play for rest of Indian team.He also played for Rajasthan Basketball Team with basketball players like Hanuman Singh and Ajmer Singh and he won 3 national gold and 1 silver medal for Rajasthan. Ripudaman Singh Aulakh was trained by coaches like Mr. Bhura Singh, Mr. Kenneth Owen Bosen and Mr. Sagar Sir.
Later Career of R.D. Singh
After a good career as an athlete, R.D. Singh joined N.M.P.G. College, Hanumangarh as a Director Physical Education in 1981. In early days of service R.D. Singh got Governor Award for excellent coaching to Rajasthan`s athletes in 1985. In his guidance approx 500 trainees played in all India Inter University. He is working for physical handicap and BPL athletes from 1990. In 1997, R.D. Singh found Devendra Jhajharia in school competition. In 2004 his trainee Devendra Jhajharia became first ever paralympic gold medal winner of India. In 2003 He found para athlete Jagseer Singh and he also won many international medal.
