Makara MudraMakara mudra is a hand gesture practised for various physical and mental benefits. `Makara` in Sanskrit means crocodile and `mudra` is a form of expression by the use of fingers of both the hands of a human being.

In Indian mythology, makara mudra is also called `crocodile mudra`. Crocodile is known for its strength. After prolonged periods of rest, this reptile can convert its reserve energy quickly and pounce on its prey at lightning speed. Human beings also have reserves of strength that are restored during phases of rest. This mudra activates kidney energy, which is related to this reserve of strength. Makara mudra also helps in the restoration of satisfaction, happiness. This mudra has the power of healing black rings under the eyes.

Steps of Makara Mudra
In the Makara mudra, the practitioner is required to place one hand inside the other. Extend the thumb of lower hand through the little finger and ring finger of the other and place it in the middle of the palm of upper hand. The thumb and the tip of ring finger should touch each other. Spread the rest of the fingers wide. Makara mudra can be done three times a day for about ten minutes.
