Lok Jan Shakti PartyThe Lok Jan Shakti Party is a regional political party of the Indian state of Bihar. Accomplished politician Ram Vilas Paswan runs the party. The Dalits of Bihar hold the majority memberships of the party. The Lok Sabha Elections of 2004 proved to be a major terminal point for the Lok Jan Shakti Party. The party participated in the election contest in ally with the Indian National Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal. However the party won 4 seats in the Lok Sabha as a result of which the party chief Ramvilas Paswan became the minister of Steel and Fertilisers.

The Lok Jan Shakti Party in the 2005 Bihar assembly polls contested against the Rashtriya Janata Dal in ally with the Congress and this time the party won 29 assembly seats. At the time of the 2005 elections the Lok Jan Shakti Party published a manifesto where they promised to present `modernised and crime-free Bihar`. They also took pledge `towards forming a "real and secular" government committed to establishing the rule of law`. They also promised welfare for the minorities, Dalits, other destitutes and weaker sections of the society. According to the party president Union Chemicals and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, "In the event of coming to power the party would build a modern and crime-free Bihar." In the manifesto they have also offered `10 per cent reservation to Muslims, who are educationally and financially backward`.
