Karsan Ghavri, born on February 28, 1951, Rajkot, Gujarat, had played cricket as a left-arm medium pace bowler and left-hand batsman. This man had the substance to get chances of participation in 39 Tests and 19 One-Day Internationals , since 1974 to 1981. He had the proud history of representing his nation in the grand phenomena of the 1975 and 1979 World Cup Tournaments.
This able left-arm medium pace bowler, has a total collection of 109 Test wickets. His wise utilisation of seemingly harmless, but entrapping bouncers, used to plague the batsman , approached by him.

He resumed to participation in 1976-77 , to play against New Zealand and England. Since, 1981, he earned stability as an essential member of the Indian cricket team, on a regular basis.
Ghavri fared well, in the three Tests that occurred in Australia in 1977-78. He managed to accumulate 64 runs in the innings at Sydney, and landed up with seven significant wickets in the match of the final Test at Adelaide.
However, the series against West Indies in 1978-79 , cast a halo of tremendous renown around the hard-working Karsan Gharvi. Gharvi rose to the pinnacle of perfection, by achieving a record-making 27 wickets.
Karsan maintained a sequel to such lofty standards. The following season, he made his way to his radiant top score of 86 against the difficult Australia in Bombay. He secured this glory in the course of his eight-wicket partnership of 127 runs, with Syed Kimrani.
Sometimes later, his prestige-saving 45 not out, escalated a decelarating India from 69 for 8 to 162 at Kanpur. He showed the urgency of his presence to India repeatedly. Therefore, again, in the final Test, of that series, which happened at Calcutta (recently Kolkata), he hit necessary 37 runs, that evaded India`s decline into loss.
His merit continued contributing till the final tour that he undertook, in his career. The veteran cricketer crushed the rival Australia, by picking up a lump some 5 wickets for 107 runs, in the innings at Sydney. Even, in the third and penultimate Test at Melbourne, he ushered in an air of relief in the Indian camp. He made the Australian pillars of strength; Dyson and Greg Chappell leave the field being out, due to his consecutive devouring deliveries.
