Geeta Rani is a female Indian weightlifter who has been awarded the Arjuna Award for her outstanding performance in sports. She was ranked 4th at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Geeta Rani, Indian WeightlifterGeeta Rani is a well known woman Indian weightlifter. She was born on 16th September 1981 in Sangrur. Geeta won the gold medal in the Women`s +75 kg category at the Commonwealth Games in the year 2006. Geeta Rani with her hard work and efficiency has proved herself in the national and the international levels. She started with weightlifting in 1994 with the assistance of her coach Surinder Singh. Although she has studied until the 8th Standard, but due to her illustrious sporting career, Geeta Rani has been appointed s an Inspector in the CRPF. To add to her merit list she has also won three silver medals in Asian Championship in the year 2004 and a bronze medal in the Afro-Asian Games held in Hyderabad in 2003.

At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, she was 4th in the Women`s +75 kg category. Geeta Rani has been awarded the Arjuna Award for her outstanding performance in sports.
