Dhirasana is a meditative asana derived from Vajrasana. Meditation ensures enhancement of mind and when it is done in the posture of Dhirasana, the affect can be double; resulting in physical strength as well.
Technique of Dhirasana
The two varieties are Daksinapada Dhirasana and Vamapada Dhirasana that may be practised by the use of only the right leg or the left leg singly and alternately respectively. The other leg, as the case may be, is then folded and held in perpendicular position with the heel touching the anus. It is called Dhirasana or the `sedate-pose`.
Effects of Dhirasana
Dhirasana offers various benefits. Regular practice of this asana can enhance both physical and mental strength.
