Bobby Deol, Indian Movie Actor Indian movie actor Bobby Deol was born on 27th January 1967, and is of Punjabi origin. His original name is Vijay Singh Deol but is better known as Bobby Deol. He is the second son to Dharmendra, the legendary Bollywood actor, and Prakash Kaur. His elder brother Sunny Deol is also a famous actor. Bobby also has two sisters Vijeyta and Ajita and two half sisters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol born from father`s second wife Hema Malini. Actor Abhay Deol is his younger cousin. Bobby Deol is married to Tanya Ahuja with whom he has two children. His eldest son was born in 2001 whose name is Aryaman. His second son was born on November 5, 2004 and was named Dharam after his grandfather.

Bobby Deol`s Film Career
At the age of 10 years he made a very brief appearance in the 1977 film `Dharam Veer` where he played the younger version of his father`s character. He made his full-fledged debut as a leading man in the 1995 film `Barsaat`. Famous director Shekhar Kapur was assigned to do the task of directing the movie but incidentally Kapur walked out of the project and Rajkumar Santoshi took over. In 1997 Bobby Deol starred in his next film with Kajol, titled `Gupt: Bobby Deol, Indian Movie ActorThe Hidden Truth` which went on to become the fifth highest grossing film of the year and was critically acclaimed. Bobby`s following film was `Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya`. In 1998, Deol starred in two films namely `Kareeb` and `Soldier`. The latter was a medium hit and Deol received much acclaim for his role as a mysterious killer. In 1999, he worked in Sunny`s directorial debut `Dillagi` where he starred with his brother Sunny Deol for the first time. In 2000 he had moderate success with `Badal` and `Bichhoo` and his following films did not do as well. After a series of flop films, he gained moderate success in 2001 with the murder mystery, Ajnabee. In 2002, out of his four releases he had a hit with `Humraaz` which was a mystery movie. His following films again failed to do well at the box office although he did win acclaim for his portrayal of real-life freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in `23rd March 1931: Shaheed` which also starred his brother Sunny as Chandrashekhar Azad. In 2003 he had no film releases and in 2004 again his releases were flop. In 2007, he played a villainous role in `Shakalaka Boom Boom`, which failed in India but did good business overseas. His second release, `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom` released in June 2007. The film took in one of the biggest openings in India but failed to recover its costs due to the negative reviews from both critics and audiences. It did much better overseas, especially in the UK. His third release `Apne` was with his brother and father starring together for the first time. The film opened to good reviews and did well in India and overseas. His following release, `Naqaab` failed to do well though he received good reviews for his performance. His most recent release was `Nanhe Jaisalmer`. In this film he played himself.

Indian movie actor Bobby Deol won Filmfare best debut award in the year 1995 for his film `Barsaat`. In 2002 he was nominated for Filmfare best actor award for the film `Humraaz`.
