It was an important trading centre and also a point for maritime activities. Beypore beach lures tourists as well as of historians from various corners of the world.

Location of Beypore Beach
It is located at the mouth of River Chaliyar around 10 kilometres away from Kozhikode town (Calicut).

Attractions of Beypore Beach
The beach is popular among the historians and tourists due to various factors. The beach had witnessed much trade and transactions of the Arabian merchants from various places including West Asia, Chinese travellers and later Europeans with the local dealers. The existence of the 1,500 years old tradition of shipbuilding industry also adds significance to this beach. Another unique feature of the bridge is the two kilometres long bridge, which is made out of stone.

There is a walk way built in the sea known as Pulimuttu which enables people to take a stroll and get rejuvenated. Sometimes when one stands at the end of this walk way, one may see the dolphins playing in the sea. However, it depends upon luck. People can also indulge into fun activities like swimming. The beach is pristine and the waves are not too harsh which ensures a safe swim.

The other attractions of the beach are Chaliyar backwaters, Kadalundi and Beypore Light house. River Chaliyar joins the sea just near the beach which creates an amazing view for the nature lovers. Beypore light house is located near Chaliyam beach. The light house is a heritage structure yet functional. Kadalundi is a neighbouring region which is home to mangrove forests and various colourful birds.

Connectivity of Beypore Beach
The beach is well connected via railway, airway and roadway. Both the railway Station and airport is situated in Kozhikode City. The beach is 10 kms to the south of Kozhikode City. People can easily avail taxi and auto services from the city. The ideal time to explore the beauty of this beach is from October to May.
