As the name suggest, back mudra is effective in relieving back pain. Back mudra is practiced to get relief from acute backache. It is considered an excellent mudra for treating backache. This mudra involves both hands for practice. Mudras are hand gestures that have healing properties. Mudra works in way which helps in balancing the energies in the body, hence helps to get rid of complications due to pain.

Steps of Back Mudra
The steps of back mudra are very simple to perform and it involves both hands for practice. There are separate mudras for right and left hands which has to be done in conjunction with each another.


•The thumb, middle finger, and little finger of the right hand should be touching and the index finger and ring finger are extended.
•The thumb joint is placed on the nail of the index finger of left hand.
•This mudra is practised for four times a day for 4 minutes or, against acute complaints, until it has an effect.

Benefits of Back Mudra
Backache is one of the most common ailments affecting people, especially those over the age of 30. Most people seek temporary relief from backaches by taking over-the-counter painkillers. However, back mudra, certain exercises and yoga poses can help strengthen the back and reduce backaches.

Back mudra is very easy to perform but it is better to consult with a doctor before practicing. This is because a single mistake can lead to severe problem. So, the best way to gain benefits from this mudra is to practice under the supervision of yoga expert.
