Ashish Kumar, Indian GymnastAshish Kumar is an Indian gymnast, hailing from Allahabad District of Uttar Pradesh. Ashish Kumar was born on 1986. He won the first-ever medal in gymnastics from India in October 2010 at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. After that, he became a well known face in gymnastics. He is the most successful Indian gymnast in Commonwealth Games history, by winning bronze and silver medals in different gymnastic events.

Although Ashish Kumar is a top candidate for the Indian contingent at the 2014 games, Indian gymnasts participation has become dubious after complaints about discrepancies in the selection process have surfaced on the 9th of July, 2014.

Sports Career of Ashish Kumar
At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Ashish Kumar won a bronze medal in Men`s floor exercise in gymnastics. Later, he won a silver medal in Men`s vault, where the gold went to Luke Folwell of England, while Ian Galvan of Canada won the bronze medal.

During the 2010 Asian games, Ashish Kumar passed from RIT, Berhampur that was held in Guangzhou, China. Ashish Kumar won a bronze in the floor exercise in that tournament.

At the South Central Asian Gymnastics Championships in Dhaka in December 2011, Ashish Kumar won four gold medals, in the all-round, floor, vault and hi-bar events.
