In the year 2001, 32 people from different fields won the prestigious civilian award in India, the Padma Bhushan Award. The award is ranked third amongst all the civilian awards presented in India, just behind the Bharat Ratna Award and the Padma Vibhushan Award. The award is presented by the Government of India since the year 1954 and it is mainly presented to those, who have shown extraordinary performances in their respective fields. The Government actually recognised their great talents and appreciates their great achievements through this award.
