The third highest civilian award in India, the Padma Bhushan Award is being presented by the Government of India on a regular basis since the year 1954. The Government presents the award with a view to honour the highly talented people from different fields, who have achieved some great feats in their respective fields. Their achievements are different and distinct among all the other people in their fields and that is why, they are honoured with this award. The year 1966 saw a total of 14 people receiving the Padma Bhushan Award.
