The year 1965 saw a total number of 25 people winning the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. The award is presented by the Government of India for recognising the extraordinary talents in different fields and also to acknowledge their achievements. The award is considered to be the third highest civilian award given in India, just after the Bharat Ratna and the Padma Vibhushan. The Government of India has been presenting the award since the year 1954 on a regular basis and several people have been honoured with this award, so far.
