The Padma Bhushan Award is a prestigious and honourable civilian award presented by the Government of India. The award is given to the Indian citizens who have excelled in their respective fields, with a view to recognise their excellence. The year 1955 was the second year for the Padma Bhushan award to be presented and a total of 12 people from different fields receive the award in 1955.
