Zoos of Eastern India deal with zoos of the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and the zoo in the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

These zoos add value to the tourism of the East Indian states and therefore can be regarded as their tourism products.

Zoos of Bihar
Sanjay Gandhi Jaivik Udyan, also known as Patna Zoo is located off Bailey Road in Patna. In the year 1973, this park was opened to the public. It is spread over a land of about 152.95 acres. This zoo provides shelter to about 800 animals of about 110 species like elephants, giraffe, etc and more than 300 species of trees, herbs and shrubs. This zoo provides bird sighting opportunities. This zoo also draws visitors due to an aquarium which is the largest revenue creator of the zoo after the general admission fee. The aquarium serves as a home to about 35 species of fish. The snake house has 32 snakes belonging to 5 species.Zoos of Eastern India

Zoos of Jharkhand
Birsa Zoological Park is located near Ormanjhi, on the Ranchi-Patna National Highway. This park is associated with an animal adopting program, which aims to enhance public awareness regarding the importance of wildlife conservation. Tata Steel Zoological Park located in Jamshedpur was opened to the public on 3rd March, 1994. It is spread over a land of about 37 hectares. It aims to provide a natural environment to different species and a place for recreation, education, research, conservation and captive breeding.

Zoos of Odisha
Nandankanan Zoological Park is located in Bhubaneswar. This zoo and botanical garden has the distinction of being the first zoo in India to join World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) in the year 2009. This zoo is spread over a land of about 400 ha or 990 acres.

Zoos of West Bengal
The zoos in the state of West Bengal are categorized as Government Zoos and Private Zoos. Some of the Government Zoos of West Bengal are Alipore Zoological Garden, Adina Deer Park, Jhargram Deer Park, Garchumuk Mini Zoo, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park and Rasikbeel Mini Zoo. The names of some of the Private Zoos of West Bengal are Calcutta Snake Park, Marble Palace Zoo and West Bengal Snake Park and Laboratory.

Zoo of Andaman and Nicobar Islands
There is a Mini Zoo situated in Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It serves as a home to about 200 species of birds and animals.
