Yuvraj Singh, born on December 12, 1981 is the illustrious son of the proud celebrity father, Yograj Singh, an ex-Indian fast bowler, and a well-known Punjabi film-star. He had been one of the players of the Indian squad that won the prestigious World Cup in 2011. He had been the vice-captain of the One-Day International Team of India from late-2007 to late-2008. Yuvraj has functioned mainly as a left-hand batsman, but on occasions he has bowled in a slow left-arm orthodox style. Yuvraj Singh has played in the One-Day International Team of India, from 2000.

Early Career of Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh hit the headlines, being the skipper of the U-19 Punjab cricket players, leading his squad against the adversary battalion of Bihar in the final match of the Cooch-Behar Trophy. Yuvraj Singh exhibited a marvellous 385. Yuvraj`s deeds got him promoted into the U-19 World Cup Team, going out to Sri Lanka in January 2000. Yuvraj found himself as the member of a team, captained by another famous cricket personality, Mohammed Kaif. The team clinched the trophy. Yuvraj Singh next got selected in 2000 for joining the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.

Later Career of Yuvraj Singh
In October 3, 2003, Yuvraj stormed into the ODI arena, in his debut match of Kenya Vs India during the Nairobi Mini World Cup in 2001-01. He acquired an outstanding 84, and displayed some fabulous fielding stances. Henceforth, Yuvraj Singh started off his journey in Indian cricket, and till date, he has exhibited valour before the opponent teams. Yuvraj displayed his excellence in the two One-Day Internationals against Zimbabwe, early in 2002. He delivered a fabulous innings which wooed victory in both the matches.

Still the 2005-2006 seasons resulted as a purple patch in the ODI career of Yuvraj Singh. In the 58 matches, hat he has played, he has bagged 1161 runs. Yuvraj subsequently played few more vital matches until 2011.

2011 ICC Cricket World Cup Career of Yuvraj Singh
In the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup he became the first player to take 5 Wickets and score 50 runs in a World Cup match opposite Ireland. He won the Man of the Match award four times. He had a stupendous World Cup scoring 362 runs at average of 90.50 and taking 15 wickets at 25.13 runs apiece. He was thus declared the Man of the Tournament in the World Cup.

The ICC Twenty 20 World tournament has showed one of the most memorable feats of Yuvraj Singh. In the Super 8 match, on September 19, 2007, at Kingsmead in Durban against England he has created an awesome record. This superb batsman has hit 6 spell-bounding sixes off one Stuart Broad over. This cyclonic innings of Yuvraj Singh facilitated him, to score the fastest fifty, off merely 12 balls, in the history of Twenty20 tournament. He equalled the record of Herschelle Gibbs. Yuvraj also received Rs.10, 000,000 in cash from the Board of Control Cricket India for his splendid performance in the tournament. He is also the first Indian player to cross 100 Sixes in Twenty 20 matches.

Yuvraj Singh in Indian Premier League
In Indian Premier League, Yuvraj Singh was the icon player and captain for Punjab team; Kings XI Punjab in the first two seasons. In the third season in 2010 the captaincy was given to Kumar Sangakkara. In 2011, Yuvraj Singh was bought by the Pune franchisee, Pune Warriors India, during the IPL Auction and was made the captain of the team. In Indian Premier League 2015, he was signed for Delhi Dare devils.

Awards Received by Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh has been bestowed with the award of the Porsche 911 car for his unparalleled 6 sixes by the Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Yuvraj has been gifted Rs.10, 000,000 in cash from the BCCI for his red-lettered achievement. Yuvraj Singh, Indian Cricket Player Against Australia in the World Twenty20 semi-finals at Durban, Yuvraj lifted 70 runs off just 30 balls. He was conferred upon the Man of the Match. Yuvraj Singh won the National U-14 Roller Skating Championship. Then, he had been a member of Indian Cricket Team in One Day Internationals since 2000. He was awarded a Porsche 911 in 2007 by the vice president of BCCI. He was vice-captain of the ODI team in 2007-2008. In a 2007 ICC World Twenty20 match, he hit six sixes in a single over. He was the top performer at ICC World Twenty20 2007. He became the First All Rounder to score 300 plus runs and to take 15 wickets in a single World Cup. He was the Man of the Series in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. He was awarded with the Arjuna Award (India`s second highest, Sporting Award) in 2012 by the President of India.
