Yaganti is located in the Kurnool District in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The temple is in the Banaganapalle mandal, 14 km west of Banagapalle.

Yaganti Temple
The Yaganti Temple is also located in Yaganti. It is one of the temples that was patronized by one of the great dynasties of India. The temple is flocked by many devotes who come from far off places. The temple houses idols of Lord Shiva, Parvati and Nandi. According to history the temple was built by King Harihara Bukka Rayalu of the Sangama Dynasty of the Vijayanagara Empire in the 15th century. It was built according to Vaishnavaite traditions.

An important feature of the temple is its Pushkarini. It is a small pond of water in the temple premises. The water here flows into this Pushkarini from the bottom of hill through the mouth of a Nandi. The water tastes sweet but mysteriously no one is aware of how the water reaches the pond all year round and this temple architecture. Devotees flock here to take a holy bath in Pushkarini.

Yaganti Caves
The Yaganti Caves located in Yaganti depicts the fascinating beauty. The caves are a superb collection of subterranean passageways that evolved because of gradual actions and reactions of nature.

The main attraction of Yaganti Caves has been represented in the form of Venkateswara Cave, Sanka Cave, Rokalla Cave and Veera Brahman Cave.

Agastya Cave
Agastya Cave is the cave where sage Agastya performed his penance to receive the blessings of for Lord Shiva. Tourists can enter the cave by climbing 120 steep steps. The cave houses an idol to Devi that is worshipped by the devotees.

Venkateswara Cave
Venkateswara Cave houses the damaged idol of Lord Venkateswara. This cave is much easier to clinb for the visitors in comparison to the Agastya cave. According to the story this idol was present in this cave before the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple was constructed. However, as the idol is damaged near the foot, it was not worshipped.

Veera Brahmam Cave
Veera Brahmam Cave is the cave where Saint Sree Potuluri Veera Brahmendra swamy wrote some of his Kala Gnaanam. The cave does not have much height and one needs to bend half over to enter it.

Yaganti Caves is visited by a huge number of visitors every year. The place has well-developed infrastructure of roads and is easily assessable by road, rail and air. The railway station is located at Kurnool which is 100 km away from Yaganti. Banaganapalle, an adjoining city of the place, is at a distance of only 13 km and from here one can avail bus services. The nearest air port is situated in Hyderabad.
