White Hall
White Hall located in Gangtok was built in 1932 in memory of Sir John Claude White, the first Political Officer of Sikkim. A famous flower show is organised here.

It is situated 15 minutes walking distance from the main market place of Gangtok. The White Hall of Gangtok is a historically significant monument. The Chief Minister`s residence is quite close to the White Hall.

Architecture of White Hall
It is one of the oldest buildings of the city and was built in 1932, when India was still under the British colonization. White Hall has been built in memory of Sir John Claude White, the first Political Officer of Sikkim. Hence it has named as White Hall. The White Hall in Gangtok is a two storied structure that is adorned with a statue of Jawaharlal Nehru, the late Prime Minister of India. The hall has furnished with recreational facilities like a badminton court and also an Officers` Club. The design of the building represents the British architectural style.

Flower Show at White Hall
A famous flower show is held in and around the White Hall complex. This event is well known and is attended by many people during the spring season every year. The exhibition features Himalayan flowers, various orchids and also a variety of rhododendrons. Lots of tourists visit this place during the spring season to experience the beauty of various flowers that at staged in the exhibition.
