Watson Museum is located at Jubilee Garden in Rajkot. It happens to be a multipurpose museum exhibiting copies of artifacts belonging from Mohenjo-Daro. It also contains exquisite collection of archeological items, traditional items and coins.

It is considered to be one of the best in amongst all such seven museums situated across the Saurashtra region managed by the Gujarat state government. It holds collections of precious artifacts of the princely state of Rajkot found by the Jadeja Rajputs. It has a reference library, invaluable articles, photographs and artifacts. History of the Watson Museum
The museum is situated inside the Queen Victoria memorial institute buildings in Jubilee Garden. It was named after the fond memory of Colonel John Watson in the year 1888, who was a British political agent of the Kathiawar Agency from 1881 to 1889. It happens to be the second most important museum later to the Museum of Baroda along with being the oldest in Saurashtra region.

Colonel Watson was fond of archaeology and history. He used to gather information about Rajkot. Most of the gathered collection and other artifacts are preserved in the museum. The building got completed in the year of 1893. It was opened publicly by Governor Lord George Harris of Bombay Presidency.

Collections of the Watson Museum
The museum exhibits copies of the artifacts from Mohenjo-Daro and natural history. It has carvings from the 13th century, statues of temples, archaeological and traditional items and coins. Meanwhile, the archeological gallery of the museum also holds artifacts of the Harappaan Civilization and pre historic period, treasures of the sculptures belonging to the erstwhile Ghumali.

Visiting information of the Watson Museum
The museum is located at Jubilee Garden which is adjacent to the Dhebar road. The area forms a connection with Jamnagar through the SH 26, which is also the best possible route to take for reaching through road. Rajkot and Jamnagar are located about 88km apart from each other. There are both services of cabs and buses available to the Watson Museum.
