VRV Singh, Punjab CricketerVikram Raj Vir Singh or VRV as he is also known as he an Indian Cricketer who has been a part of the team in the 2006 series against England and played a few Test matches for his country as well. He is considered as one of the genuine fast bowler from India. He has the ability of generating raw pace and is a real talent. Initially he was called for the Indian squad in the 2005 series against Sri Lanka, but unfortunately failed the fitness test and was promptly dropped as a result. But he was finally selected and brought in the Indian side in the 2006 England series. He was given a place in the playing XI and played his first ODI against the English side at Jamshedpur. He debuted in Tests against the West Indies in June 2006

Early life of Vikram Raj Vir Singh
VRV Singh was born in Chandigarh in Punjab, India on 17 September 1984. Right through the start of his career he has always been a pace bowler. There are instances where, in order to strive for some extra pace, he had compromised his accuracy. He made his domestic debut for Punjab cricket team in the 2003/04 Ranji Trophy season and still continues to play first class cricket for the same team.

VRV represented India in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2004 but could not shine in full glory. He was disappointing with the ball, where he went for an expensive 44 runs in five overs in his only match. He later received the Border-Gavaskar scholarship which allowed him to train in cricket academies in Australia. His fellow scholarship holder, Rudra Pratap Singh, also later went on to play for India

Career of Vikram Raj Vir Singh
Vikram Raj Vir Singh began his cricketing career with the Punjab side under Punjab Cricket Association, in limited version of the game on Ranji Trophy tournament. He played in a single match and did not get any wickets. But when he made his first appearance for Punjab in the first class cricket he took 30 wickets in 6 matches and averaged 21.00. But he still failed miserably in ODI, where in 4 matches he averaged 109.00. Inspite all these he was picked up for the Indian team for Sri Lanka tour in 2005, but due to untoward injury occurrence he was dropped from the side. He went back to playing first class cricket and improved upon his game and in 2005-06 season of Ranji Trophy he averaged 20.75 in his 4 matches which included 4 wicket haul.

Later in the Challenger Trophy Cricket VRV impressed all and sundry with his raw pace and he was the quickest in the tournament. He represented India A, and picked up few wickets as well and was referred to as the "fastest bowler in India" by VVS Laxman and "the quickest around at present" by Javagal Srinath. He also attracted the attention of many foreign bowling stalwarts.

International Career
Vikram Raj Vir Singh got selected for India to take part in the practise match for Indian Board President`s XI team against England in the 2006 season. He later debuted for India in the later part of the series. He then again played against England in the same series in Indore District. But since then he has not really played for Indian ODI team and his place is now been taken by the likes of Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma etc. He did not get any wickets during his two ODI outings.

Vikram Raj Vir Singh made his Test debut against the West Indies in West Indies, where he bagged two wickets. He has also played two tests against South Africa, in which he has achieved 2 more wickets
