Vatsyayana is a Hindu philosopher who is believed to have lived during the rule of Gupta Empire.

Vatsyayana is also believed to be the author of Kama sutra as well as the author of Nyaya Sutra Bhashya. Nyaya Sutra Bhashya is the first commentary on Gautama`s Nyaya Sutras. However exact date of Vatsyayana is unknown. However it is believed that he must have lived between the 1st and 6th century AD.
