Varsha Soni, a far famed former national woman field hockey player represented India at 1980 Summer Olympics Games. She has participated at the tournament that was held in round robin league basis. The team won the tournament. Other members of the team was Eliza Nelson (Captain), Margaret Toscano, Razia Zaidi, Sudha Chaudhary, Gangotri Bhandari, Pritipal Kohli, Sharanjeet Kaur, Fiona Albuquerque, Anurita Dubey, Devinder Khokar, Nazleen Madraswala, Prem Maya Sonir , Selma D`Silva, Rajbir Kaur and Omana Kumari. She represented India in 1982 Asian Games also.

She was born in 12th March, 1957 in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Varsha Soni was the youngest of her eight brothers and sisters. She started her playing career at a very early age. After that she worked for Indian Railways in Jaipur. She is currently she is residing in United States of America.
