Vagamon, Hill station in KeralaPlaced at a height of approximately 1100 m above ground level, Vagamon, a beautiful hill resort in Kerala lies almost 65 km from the district of Idukki and 60 km from Kottayam. Nestled by the Thangal hills, the Kurisumala and the Murugan hills, Vagamon is rested high amongst green tea plantations and babbling watercourses. Vagamon, also known as Wagamon insures an exalting and comforting refuge for trekkers and trampers. Wide variety of animals and birds are the special attraction of Vagamon. While taking a stroll one can come across elephants, which are seen busy fun and frolicking in water pools. As has been already mentioned, Vagamon is nestled within 3 hills, namely Thangal Hill, Murugan Hill and Kurisumala. These are places worth a second look.

Vagamon in Kerala is also renowned for its exclusive rock establishments at Thangal Para. A visit to the dairy farm in Kurisumala enhances one`s aesthetic knowledge. Another attractive locale is the Live Stock Board. It is a popular breeding hub in the whole of Kerala.

Lying atop the hill there is a tiny church and also a Kurisumala Ashramam, another significant tourist locale. Situated in the vicinity, Kurisumala Ashramam is a famous monastery for Christian abstainers. They are the people who practice self-denial as a spiritual discipline.

In order to reach Vagamon in a short span of time people can take flights from the airport in Kochi. It is the nearest airport of Vagamon.

By Rail:The closest railway station is Kottayam, lying almost sixty km from Kottayam.

By road:Vagamon is well connected to other cities of Kerala via roadways. For instance one can reach Vagamon from places like Kottayam and Cochin. Local transports like buses and private taxis ply between the above mentioned places of Kerala. One can also avail the service of vehicles like auto rickshaws in order to move around locally.
