Usanas is found in the Hindu mythology and they are known to be the preceptor of the Daityas that is one of the Brahmanical tribe of Bhargavas. The Bhargavas are the sons of Bhrign.

According to the Hindu mythology, the Usanas is also the Vyasa of the third Dwapara age. Apart from that, Usanas is referred as a prince in the Hindu mythology, as well. The Hindu mythology says that Usanas is the son of Tamas who celebrated a hundred sacrifices of the horse.
