University of Gour Banga was established in 2008 and situated in English Bazaar, West Bengal. Around 34 colleges are affiliated to this university.

University of Gour Banga, West BengalUniversity of Gour Banga is located in English Bazaar, at Malda district, West Bengal. Most of the colleges in Malda, Uttar Dinajpur and Dakshin Dinajpur have been brought under affiliation of the University of Gour Banga. Currently there are 34 affiliated colleges. University of Gour Banga has been established by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 2008.

The logo of the University of Gour Banga was prepared in the second week of June 2008 by Sameer Rakshit, the Head of the Department of Architecture, Jadavpur University. Sameer Rakshit is also in charge of designing the main building of the University of Gour Banga, which started functioning from the ground-floor of the Post-Graduate Section of Malda College in 2008.

University of Gour Banga is considered as one of the reputed universities in India. The University has a well developed campus with latest infrastructures for the students so that they can perform best in their future life. It is also known for the method of creative learning that is provided to the students so that they can enjoy the study. The University has a huge Central Library with large number of books of every streams and category and also of all the authors.
