Universities of Telangana
Universities of Telangana play a pivotal role in maintaining the balance of the literacy rate in India. These universities are helping their students to enhance knowledge with practical thoughts. Some of these universities are Telangana University, Kakatiya University and Osmania University.

Universities of TelanganaUniversities of Telangana evolved when the state of Telangana was formed in the year 2014, with Hyderabad as its capital. The state has central and state universities that are accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and governmental university authority. Some of the universities of Telangana are described below.

Telangana University
Telangana University is a public university located at Dichpally in Nizamabad district. It was established in the year 2006, by the government of United Andhra Pradesh. It was set up by the Act Number 28 of 2006, to encourage the academic pursuits of the backward and rural student community of Nizamabad district and Adilabad district. The campus of Telangana University encompasses 600 acres of land. The university consists of four buildings. The State Government handed over around 577 acres of land in Suddapally and Nadipally villages of Dichpally Mandal to the University of Telangana.

Kakatiya University
Kakatiya University of Telangana is a public university, located in Warangal. The university offers about 120 programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the fields of arts, science, commerce and business management, social sciences, education, engineering and pharmaceutical sciences. It has constituent and affiliated colleges spread over four districts of Telangana. The faculty includes teaching staff and non-teaching staff.Universities of Telangana

Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University or Telangana Open University or Andhra Pradesh Open University is a public university in the city of Hyderabad. It was established in August, 1982, by an Act of State Legislature and was inaugurated by the then President of India. The university was renamed as "Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Open University" on 24th of October, 1991, after the architect of the Indian Constitution, Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar on the occasion of his birth centenary. The university provides opportunities to those, who are not in a position to gain higher education through regular on-campus study at conventional colleges/ universities. The university has a supple approach towards eligibility, age of entry, choice of courses, method of learning, conduct of exams and operation of educational programmes. It makes use of a variety of learning media including radio, television, films, audio cassettes and printed study materials, besides arranging contact and counseling programmes.

Maulana Azad National Urdu University
Maulana Azad National Urdu University is a central university, located in the city of Hyderabad. It was named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. He was a freedom fighter in India`s struggle for Independence, a scholar of Islam and Urdu literature and India`s first Minister of Education. The university was established by an Act of the Parliament in January, 1998. The university has been awarded "A Grade" by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Osmania University
Universities of TelanganaOsmania University is a public state university, located in Hyderabad. It was founded in the year 1918, with the help of the chief architect of Mahbub Ali Khan namely, Nawab Sarwar Jung. It has been named after one of the last Nizams of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan. It is the first Indian university to have Urdu as a medium of instruction. In the year 2012, the university was placed sixth among the nation`s premier universities, covering the streams of humanities, sciences and commerce. The university has earned the status of the `University with Potential for Excellence`.

Osmania University College of Technology
Osmania University College of Technology (OUCT) is situated in the main campus of Osmania University. It is an old college, offering education in the fields of chemical engineering, chemical technology, food technology and textile technology in India.

Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University
Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) is located at Masab Tank, Hyderabad. It imparts education in the fields of architecture and fine arts. It was established by the erstwhile Hyderabad State in 1940 as the "College of Fine Arts". The university has two schools, which offer several undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD research programs. The university has a School of Planning and Architecture.

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) is located in Hyderabad. The university focuses on engineering. It was founded in 1965 as the Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College. It was established as a university in the year 1972, following the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Act, 1972, combining colleges in Kakinada and Anantapur.

Other Universities of Telangana
Palamuru University is a public university situated in Mahbubnagar district of Telangana. Satavahana University is a public university situated in Karimnagar district of Telangana. Mahatma Gandhi University is a state university in Telangana. It was established in the year 2007, by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It was formerly known as Nalgonda University.
