Universities of Rajasthan
Universities of Rajasthan offer higher education in various fields of study. Some of them are known to be the best institutions in western India. These universities are situated in different parts of Rajasthan. Some of the universities of Rajasthan are University of Rajasthan, University of Bikaner and National Law University.

Government of Rajasthan has duly emphasized upon higher education in the state. Rajasthan has 15 state universities, 14 private universities and 8 deemed universities. There are more than 250 colleges, about 41 engineering colleges, about 55000 primary and about 7400 secondary schools in Rajasthan. Some of the universities of Rajasthan are described below.

University of Rajasthan
University of Rajasthan is situated in the city of Jaipur. It is one of the oldest universities in the state of Rajasthan. It was set up as the University of Rajputana on 8th of January, 1947. The university received its present name in 1956. It has various faculties like faculty of arts, faculty of science, faculty of commerce, faculty of education, faculty of technology and faculty of management.

Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University
Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University is situated in Kota. It was established on 23rd of July, 1987 and was initially known as Kota Open University. The university imparts education in the fields of humanities, commerce, library science and informatics.

University of Bikaner
Universities of Rajasthan, Indian UniversitiesUniversity of Bikaner is located in Bikaner. The university was established in 2003 and marks a significant milestone in the development of tertiary education in Rajasthan. It has faculties of commerce and management, science, arts, social sciences, law and education. The university focuses upon the issues related to the local region via teaching and research.

Jai Narain Vyas University
Jai Narain Vyas University, also known as University of Jodhpur is situated in the city of Jodhpur. It was established in 1962. The university was accredited with an "A Grade" by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2005, which was maintained by it for 5 years.

Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agriculture University
Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agriculture University, earlier known as Rajasthan Agriculture University is situated in Bikaner. The present name of the university is based on the name of a freedom fighter and social reformer, Swami Keshwanand. The university consists of 6 colleges and teaching is split between two campuses.

National Law University
National Law University is situated in Jodhpur. The university imparts legal education, through dual undergraduate law degree, along with postgraduate courses in various areas of law and MBA (Masters of Business Administration).

Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University
Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University is located in the city of Ajmer. It is one of the most popular educational centers in Rajasthan. It follows the principles of the great philosopher, Maharshi Dayananda Saraswati. It was set up on 1st of August, 1987.

Other Universities of Rajasthan
There are different types of universities in Rajasthan like Sanskrit, Ayurveda, technical and agricultural universities.
