Universities of Andhra Pradesh have improved the educational scenario in the state. More than twenty institutes in Andhra Pradesh impart higher education. Some of these universities are Andhra University, Sri Venkateswara University, Krishna University and Dravidian University.

Andhra University
Andhra University is located at Visakhapatnam. It was set up in the year 1926. It offers 88 courses in the fields of arts and commerce, engineering, science and technology. It also offers MBA programmes. The university has received "A Grade" from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university campus is spread over a land of about 171 ha (422 acres).

Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University

It was set up on 12th of June, 1964. The university conducts undergraduate, postgraduate, doctorate, diploma and certificate courses in different fields of agriculture.

Acharya Nagarjuna University
Acharya Nagarjuna University is located at Guntur district. It was set up in the year 1976. It is a well known university of Andhra Pradesh. The university conducts 44 courses in various disciplines and also offers MBA programmes. It attained the status of "affiliating-university" in 1976.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University
Sri Krishnadevaraya University, located at Anantapur is one of the famous universities in Andhra Pradesh. It was set up in the year 1981. The university has been named after a patron of learning and arts of the Vijayanagara Empire, Sri Krishnadevaraya. The university offers 38 postgraduate courses in various disciplines, through 28 departments.

Sri Venkateswara University
Sri Venkateswara University, located at Tirupati is one of the leading universities of Andhra Pradesh. It was set up in the year 1954. The university conducts 71 postgraduate courses in various disciplines, through 58 departments. Sri Sathya Sai University
Sri Sathya Sai University, located at Puttaparthi focuses on value oriented education. The university was set up in the year 1981, by Sathya Sai Baba. It has received "A++" rating from National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The university has four campuses and offers free education. It conducts integrated courses, extending over five years.

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management
Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management is located at Visakhapatnam. It was set up in the year 1980. It conducts various courses in the fields of science, technology and business. It became a deemed university in the year 2007. The main university campus at Visakhapatnam occupies a land of about 100 acres.

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences
Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, located at Vijayawada is one of the prestigious health institutes of India. It was set up in the year 1986. The university has been recognized by the Central Council of Indian Medicine, Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India, Central Council of Homoeopathy and Indian Nursing Council.
