Ullakaarvi Waterfall is located on the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu. The waterfall is located in the middle of forested hills and consists of two falls, the lower falls and upper falls.

The picturesque waterfall is located in the midst of beautiful landscape which enthrals the heart of the tourists. It is a beautiful place for trekking and can be seen even from a distance on a clear day through bare eyes. The lower portion of the waterfall is a good picnic spot.

Ullakaarvi Waterfall is situated near Nagercoil in Kanyakumari District. It is almost 35 kilometres from Kanyakumari and about 17 kilometres from Nagercoil town, Tamil Nadu.

Division of Ullakaarvi Waterfall
Ullakaarvi waterfall comprises of two falls, the lower falls that serves as a beautiful picnic spot for the tourists visiting the area. The other is the higher falls that is located uphill. The water is, in essence spring water that comes up as a stream from the hills to be found nearby. Following are the two divisions of Ullakaarvi Waterfall:


Lower Falls: The lower part of the Ullakaarvi waterfall is the place where trekker reach after hiking. The exquisite place serves as a great picnic spot where tourists can enjoy themselves listening to the resonating sounds of the cascading water. Visitors can also enjoy bathing here as the water is cool and then relax here for some time. Even during the summer months the water here remains cool. However, during summer the flow of the water reduces to a certain extent. The water here can also be consumed.


Higher Falls: It is the another part of Ullakaarvi Waterfall. Tourists who wish to reach the Higher falls needs to climb about 200 metres or 660 feet uphill.

Visiting Information of Ullakaarvi Waterfall
Ullakaarvi waterfall is well connected with all modes of transport. Nagercoil is around 20 kilometres from Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari Road Transport Corporation offers regular buses to almost all the major cities of South India. Trains from Mumbai and Bengaluru ply to Kanyakumari on a daily basis. The easiest way to reach Ullakaarvi is to take a bus or hire a cab from Nagercoil town, which is 17 kilometres away from the waterfall.
