Ukhimath, UttarakhandUkhimath is a popular pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand. It is located at an elevation of 1311 meters and a distance of 41 km from Rudraprayag. During the winter months the idol of Kedarnath Temple is brought to Ukhimath and worshipped for a period of six months. This is the winter seat of Lord Krishna. Ukimath can be used as a center destination for visiting different places located nearby, like Tungnath ji (Third kedar), Madhmaheshwar(Second kedar) and Devriyatal(natural fresh water lake) and many other picturesque places.

The temple of Anniruddha, Usha, Lord Shiva and Parvati are worth visiting. Ukhimath is situated on Guptkashi Gopeshwar motor road. The place is well connected through rail, road and air. The nearest airport is Jolly Grant 202 km and nearest Railhead is Rishikesh 185 kms. It is also connected by motorable roads to all the major towns of the region.
