Ujjwala Raut is an Indian model. She is touted to be the first supermodel of India. Raut was a 17-year-old commerce student when she won "Femina Look of the Year" at the Feminia Miss India 1996 contest. She was also among the top fifteen in the 1996 Elite Model Look contest in Nice.

She was born on June 11, 1978 to a policeman. She grew up in Dahisar, a middle-class suburb in Mumbai. Before entering the fashion industry, she was a commerce student. Model Sonali Raut who appeared in the Bollywood film The Xpose (2014) is her sister.

Raut walked the runway for Yves Saint-Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Hugo Boss, Cynthia Rowley, Diane von Furstenberg, Dolce & Gabbana, Betsey Johnson, Gucci, Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, and Emilio Pucci, Victoria`s Secret Fashion Show.

She has also appeared in advertisements of Dolce & Gabbana, Gap, H&M, Pianegonda, Roberto Cavalli, and Yves Saint-Laurent. Raut has graced the covers of ELLE, Time, L`Officiel Magazine, Tank, and WWD.

Raut has also worked for various renowned fashion designers and magazines in India. She walked the runway for NYFW. Along with Milind Soman, she judged and hosted the Kingfisher Calendar Hunt in 2012.

Personal Life of Ujjawala Raut
She tied the knot with British model-turned-entrepreneur Craig Maxwell Sterry on 19 June, 2004. The couple is blessed with a daughter whom they named Ksha. However, there are reports that in 2009, Raut filed for divorce. Now, they are divorced and Raut has complete custody of Ksha.
