Tripura Sundri TempleThe former capital of the Manikyas, Udaipur retains an atmospher of antiquity not found in in other metropolitian cities. Udaipur is 55 Km away from Agartala is the Head Quarters of south Tripura district. Earlier it was known as Rangamati and Radha Kishorepur. Most of Famous temples of Tripura is constructed at Udaipur. The famous temples are Tripura Sundri temple and Bhubaneswari temple. Udaipur is an important market town surrounded by paddy fields and low forested hills.

Excursion
The main attractions in Udaipur are Tripura Sundari Temple, popularly known as MATABARI, one of the 51 pithas of Hindu Puran, Bhuvaneswari Temple, Gunabati group of Temples, Vast Lakes with scenic beauty.

Tripura Sundri Temple
Tripura Sundri temple or Mata Tripurs Sundri (Maa Kali) temple is located at 3km towards south from Udaipur town. This temple is considered one of the 51 Shaktipithas and was constructed by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 1501 on a Hill rock. Thousands of devotees, pilgrims and tourist visits here on the occasion of Diwali every year. This temple is known as Matabari is also attended daily by thousands of devotees. In the back side of the temple there is a big lake called Kalyan sagar.

Bhubaneshwari Temple
The Bhubeneshwari temple is ancient and holy place visited by all cast of people. Near to this temple the Gunabati group of temples, The Durga temple, Mahadev temple and other several famous temples are located. It is almost visited by all castes of people, visitors and trough out the year thousands of devotes attend here daily for Darshans.

Jagannath Dighi
On the southwest bank of Jagannath Dighi tank, stand the ruins of the Jagannath temple, while the seventeenth century.

Moghul Masjid
The Moghual Masjid brings back memories of the Moghal raj. It marks the furthest outpost of the Mughal Empire.

Getting There
By Air : The Airport is 12 km to the north and leads on to Agartala via the Ujjyanta Palace. Agartala is well connected with Udaipur.

By Rail : The nearest railhead is at Kumarghat.

By Road : All India tourist permit vehicles for the local transportations and also for the intercity drives are easily available.
