Karan Wahi, Indian TV ActorKaran Wahi is an Indian cricketer-turned actor, model and host. Before starting his television career with the 2004 TV show "Remix" on Star One, Wahi played under-19 national cricket for Delhi along with Indian international cricketers Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. In addition to acting on television, Karan Wahi has participated in stage shows and hosted multiple TV shows and award functions along with their Red Carpet segments. He received nominations in the hosting category at the Indian Telly Awards and Indian Television Academy Awards, for anchoring shows "Nach Baliye 5" and "Nach Baliye 6". He made his Hindi film debut in 2014, with a supporting role in Habib Faisal"s romantic comedy "Daawat-e-Ishq" and is currently working as a comedian in the comedy show "Comedy Nights Bachao", airing on Colors TV.

Early Life and Education of Karan Wahi
Karan Wahi was born on June 9, 1986, into a Punjabi Sikh Khatri family in Mohali city, Punjab. He completed his schooling from St. Mark`s Senior Secondary Public School and higher education at IILM Institute, Delhi University.

Cricket Career of Karan Wahi
During his school days, Karan Wahi represented St. Mark`s Senior Secondary Public School and was a top scorer at Zonal tournaments in football and cricket. In 2003, he was selected for the Indian under-19 cricket team for Delhi, alongside Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan. Later he left cricket after a major injury and enrolled himself in a marketing course for joining his father`s business.

Acting Career of Karan Wahi
In 2004, Karan Wahi posted his pictures on social networking site and the makers Rose Audio Visuals, of the TV show "Remix" took notice of him and called him for an audition for the character Ranveer. He got selected and portrayed the lead role of Ranveer Sisodia, an angry lover boy, opposite Shweta Gulati. The series was based upon the lives of 12th-grade students in an elite school for the rich and famous and scholarship students from the poorer families. After a long break from fiction shows, Wahi make a comeback in fiction opposite Mugdha Chaphekar, in the lead role of Rajveer in the 2009 Colors TV`s soap opera "Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari". It revolved around a family of Delhi who experience the birth of a daughter after 18 long years. He next featured in the second season of Cinevistaas Limited Productions` medical drama series "Dill Mill Gayye", alongside an ensemble cast of Sehban Azim, Shilpa Anand, Moulshree Sachdeva, Neha Jhulka. The story revolved around five medical interns in a hospital. It was aired on September 22, 2009 and telecast on Star One. Owing to date issues with his new show on Star Plus, Wahi signed a contract for at least four months to play a boy-next-door character in romance-drama series "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge", alongside Kritika Kamra and Mohnish Behl, portraying the supporting role of a fun-loving guy Rohan in mid December 2011 on Sony Entertainment Television.

In 2012, Wahi was chosen to play the pivotal role of Ritesh in Shontara Productions` anthology series "Teri Meri Love Stories", opposite Chhavi Pandey. The story is about Dr. Ritesh, a paediatrician who believes that love is the cure to all illnesses and not medicine. Trying to pursue his career in Bollywood films, he signed his first film with Yash Raj Films, for Habib Faisal`s 2015 romantic comedy "Daawat-e-Ishq", alongside Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur, and played the supporting role of Amjad. Later Wahi signed to play the male lead opposite Rhea Chakraborty, in the 2014 romantic drama film "Babbu Ki Jawani", produced by Amritpal Singh Bindra under UTV Spotboy Productions.

Television Hosting and Presenting Career of Karan Wahi

He has hosted award functions like the Indian Telly Awards and the Star Guild Awards. He has presented television shows such as Wizcraft International`s dance reality shows "Nach Baliye 5" and "Nach Baliye 6", alongside Gautam Rode. It brought him popularity and a nomination for the Favourite Host at Star Parivaar Awards, 2014. In July 2012, he hosted the red carpet segment of the 5th Gold Awards along with Nisha Jamwal. A year later, he hosted Sony TV"s singing reality show "Indian Idol Junior" along with Mandira Bedi. In 2015, he replaced Jay Bhanushali as the host for the second season of "Dance India Dance Super Moms".

Besides hosting and presenting, Karan Wahi has also appeared in several TV shows such as Sony TV"s "Mr. and Ms. TV" in which he participated in March 2008, also in the fifth season of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" in August 2012. In March 2015, Wahi participated in a reality game show "India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun?", hosted by actor Shah Rukh Khan, created by Big Synergy and produced by Siddhartha Basu. In August 2015, he appeared in the Independence Day special episode of Colors TV"s comedy show "Comedy Nights with Kapil" and since September 2015, has participated and been appearing in "Comedy Nights Bachao", broadcast on Colors TV. Karan Wahi has also supported charitable causes and has participated in different charitable events.
