Acting Career of Tulip Joshi
Tulip Joshi entered movies by chance, when she was noticed by director-producer Yash Chopra in a marriage ceremony and was asked to appear for an audition, following which she was cast in "Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai". She was not much fluent in Hindi, so she trained in Hindi diction and in acting at Feroz Khan`s studio. She was also advised by the filmmakers to change her name to something more Indian, because audiences might find it difficult to accept a heroine with such an unconventional name. She chose the name Sanjana; she was featured in the film in the lead role alongside Uday Chopra and Jimmy Shergill, playing the character of Anjali Sharma. The film, released in 2002, was quite successful and received good reviews, though Tulip was heavily panned for her acting.

Tulip subsequently made her Telugu cinematic debut in 2003 in the remake of the 2002 Tamil film "Villain", reverting to her original name. She was next seen in the Hindi film "Matrubhoomi", which was a dark story about a futuristic world with almost no women. Her performance in the film was praised and established her credibility as an actress. She next featured in the 2004 Bollywood romantic drama "Dil Maange More", alongside Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia and Soha Ali Khan, which received moderate reviews but resulted a box office failure. She next appeared in the 2006 Hindi film "Shoonya", as Neha and her debut Malayalam film "Mission 90 Days", released in 2007, as Anitha. The same year, she acted in the Hindi film "Dhokha", directed by Pooja Bhatt, co-starring Muzammil Ibrahim in the lead, her performance in which she again garnered her appraisal. Joshi has since acted in mostly less successful Hindi films, including "Superstar", "Daddy Cool", "Runway", "Hostel" and "I Am Singh". Tulip Joshi, Indian Movie Actress
