Tulip festival is one of the most cherished flower festivals of the country. It is celebrated in Srinagar in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir during the month of April when the gorgeous blooms swathe the land exquisitely. Srinagar is known for hosting the Asia`s largest tulip garden. It is known as Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden or Siraj Bagh and is situated in the foothills of Zabarwan range overlooking the Dal Lake. During this time the garden takes up the visage of a silk carpet of vibrantly coloured tulips. This garden grows about 60 varieties of beautiful tulips which bloom vibrantly spanning about 5 hectares of land. These tulips mainly blossom for 15 to 20 days depending on the temperature. The colours of these flowers have a great range among which the common ones include magenta, light blue, orange, white, pink and variegated.
