History of Temples in Trilokpur
As per the myth, Maa Balasundari emerged in the year 1573 at Trilokpur with a container of salt brought from "Devban" next to a local shopkeeper Ram Das. Local people say that the shopkeeper kept on selling the salt from the bag throughout the day but the goods did not drain. The bag remained filled as if nothing had been taken out from there. In the night, the Goddess appeared in his dream while he was napping and directed to build a Temple to set up her "Pindi swaroop" and also directed to worship in the name of "Mahamaya Balasundari".
Ram Das was not wealthy enough therefore he decided to approach the then ruler of Sirmour state. The ruler agreed and constructed a temple for setting up of the Divine "Pindi" of "Mata Balasundari" at Trilokpur. After the temple was completed, the worship of Goddess "Bala Sundri" became the tradition in the royal family.
