Tridib Chaudhuri was a well known Indian freedom fighter, nationalist and an independence activist who contributed significantly to the Indian freedom struggle. He was also one of the noted Indian politicians. Tridib Chaudhuri was born in the year 1911. He was one of the leaders of the Revolutionary Socialist Party. Later he was appointed as a member of Lok Sabha from Baharampur (Berhampore) in the Indian state of West Bengal. Tridib Chaudhuri also acted as the joint opposition candidate for Indian presidential election that was held in the year 1974. He served was member of Lok Sabha from the year 1952 to 1984.

Tridib Chaudhuri was a member of Rajya Sabha from the year 1987 until his death in 1997. He also participated in the Goa Liberation Movement that sought to finish the 451 years of the rule of the Portuguese in Goa, India. Chaudhuri was one of the founding members of the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP). On 17th August 1974, the Election Commission of India conducted indirect 6th presidential elections of India. Tridib Chaudhuri, who got 189,196 votes, was beaten by his nearest Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed with 765,587 votes.
