In the past, the Greeks, Scythians, Turks, Huns, Mongols and Afghans made consecutive invasions into Punjab. Later on, some of them also settled here permanently and adopted the indigenous traditions and customs of this land. With the passage of time, they merged with the local population and their cultural traits became an integral part of the diverse culture of this state.
