Tribal Paintings of Odisha: Saura painting is a technique of wall mural painting connected with the Saura tribe of Odisha, India. These paintings are also called ikons. They hold religious importance for the tribe, generally as a devotion to their major deity Idital. In Saura community of Odisha State, the Tribal wall paintings made by them are called "Idital". It is the family deity of every Saura. Wall paintings of Khonds are known as `Manji Gunda". Kutia Khond paintings are very effortless and these are called Tikangkuda". The paintings of Paudi Bhuyan, a tribal community, are called `Jhanjira" and they are more particular about cultivation which is reflected in a host of their paintings.
