Traditional Dress of Tangsa Tribe is known for weaving, which is also why the handloom industry is a thriving industry there. The tribal people prefer wearing indigenous organic materials only. Some favourites amongst all dresses include shawls, lungi, wraps and skirts.
Traditional Dress of Tangsa Tribe for Men
The male dress of a Tangsa consists of a Chador of different colours which falls till the ankle. He wears a sleeveless coat of blue colour, which has embroidery at the border and in the middle part of the cloth. He also wears a beautiful wristband made of small beads.
Traditional Dress of Tangsa Tribe for Women
Tangsa female wears a striped Mekhla of deep blue and maroon colours and a shining fabric all over them. She wears a long sleeve blouse with embroideries at the border. She wears a Chador around her neck and both the end falls at her back.
